Thanks for the interest in the images, I hoped they would go down well. I am adding a few unrelated non-Marine Corps images to the thread just to give a taste of the variety out there.

Its because I used to be in Kandahar with a photo permit and I can't get one for Kabul - and the traffic isn't so punchy up north.

Superb images, very interesting to see these types in operational configuration.
Captured them very nicely, can't imagine the conditions were always that easy to work in.

Lovely stuff MrO, Harvest Hawk is quite the catch and that Blackhawk shot is a doozy.

Good stuff Tony.

Does having a photo permit allow you to subsequently publish the images you have taken? I know you were operating under a journalistic license Tony but just wondered what they advised.

Hi Andy,

There was no photo permit, we had a PAO with us who guided where we could take and point our cameras and there was no free licence to take images. As much as we'd have liked to have snapped something secret and rare taxiing by it wasn't worth the trouble we would/could have got into. All the shots posted have been seen or checked by someone whether that be in an article I or Neil has written or with officials looking at the camera afterwards. But if you think there is something questionable, let me know.
