Home of the Eagles

Home of the Eagles

Now, I know Lakenheath has been done to the death many times over. But I have never ever had a successful day there. It's either been raining or snowing or the light was rubbish or nothing flew or they were on the wrong end. But I had 3 hours down there last week and loved it! I walked down the lane to try and get some photos from the north last check area. Heat haze from the jets was immense, but I think it adds to the photos. They're certainly not going to win prizes though

Here's what I got

Three Es didn't have CFTs and only fuel tanks on the wings. I've been reliably informed they were flying back to the US for storage

Decent set - last one would be my favourite. Very interesting to catch the 'Es with the CFTs removed too.

Dio you know if the last chance checks on the North side is to be a permanent feature? The building work across the runway has been going on for a while now, nearly a year?

A fine set Kenny! Frame 16 does it for me, perfect composition and context!
