Eagles on Tain range

Thanks to Andy,Mark and the guys for excellent hospitality as always and Thanks Niall, John and Chris for good company and great banter as always!!
Had a trip up the road to catch the Lakenheath Eagles on the range. A fourship "Slam 11-14" were en route but 13 and 14 had to turn back unfortunately. However the sound of the gun on the Eagle soon made the disappointment disappear! Appologies for quality due to sun being in our faces on the control tower.

An interesting set of images.
Such a shame it missed the tanks.
Back to the drawing board and calculations.

I think you'll find that that is classed as a direct hit considering they are using Mk82 500lb "dumb" bombs.

Great set and something different , were these taken on Monday or Tuesday?

The 'impact' shot is cool, you can see the dummy bomb in the air top right hand!
Russian & Eastern European Fly-In 2013 details TBA.

About 18:00. Was a fourship but Slam13 and 14 went home. They were due back around 21:30 but we'd left the tower by then.

Good shots from a slightly different angle.

The local sheep (or sheeps as my nephew insists on calling them) seem totally unphased by activity going on behind them !

Great shots mate. How on earth do you get to photograph the jets so close to a range, bloody fantastic that. Was this an organised trip or can you just waltz to the viewing area and snap away?
