Air to Air with Greek A-7

Post by IRONBIRDPHOTOGRAPHY »

This particular project took several months to complete, all we needed now was some good weather.

Alerted by bad weather fronts over Northern France the A-7's changed their flightplan from fuelstopping in Germany to Fuelstopping in Aviano.
This had some implications for our "airtime" ! So they flew as economical as they could to the UK. We got a signal they departed ok from Italy and boarded our photoship when they were 100 miles out.

The pair was heading for RIAT,and had to make their slot time.

Flying over the Gloucester area at 10000ft we had some nice clouds, and hardly any overcast, the aircraft c/s HAF 336 A/B came to us nicely
see the video of the photoshoot.

Picture enclosed is watermarked for praktical purpose, appologies to those who are offended!

Stunning!!! shame about the watermark as i'd love that as wallpaper on my pc, but understand why you would put the watermarks on. Lovely aircraft and beautifully photographed!

And wow that Airbrake!!!!

I really like the second one, but they're all great. Like Wissam, Im wondering how you go about organizing something like this? Do you just call the squadron up and ask them if they are interested in a photoshoot on their way to RIAT?

many thanks for your comments!

organising such a photoshoot is sometimes as easy as calling Ops,usually it is quite more complex. These day's more and more countries
have forbidden their pilots to do such a thing, and permission from HQ has to be arranged.

Ironbird photography ( me ) has been on many many photoflights,i have the experience to safely and efficiently organise and execute
these mid-air photoshoots. DC-10,787,Vulcan,Lancaster No problem!

Sounds incredible, you're very lucky. If you ever need a hand lifting things or holding things or being a motivational presence on your flights, just drop me a PM!

Great set. And fair play on these. That air break is crazy, a well caught and rare sight indeed.

At least your watermark isn't too imposing. It seems the better the photos the less imposing the watermark.

Keep up the good work.

hello all,
i noticed that the mentioned link for a short video compilation is not used. Not only find many people this clip exiting, it also
answers many other questions.

Brilliant set!

One note though, on the airbrake photo: "Have you ever seen an A-7 airbrake?"
