Kaman get some Polish..

One of the joys for me at last year's Radom show was the chance to shoot a live Kaman SH-2G Super Seasprite. Having seen the US Navy's last reserve unit at North Island a few years ago I thought the chances of seeing another were pretty slim. Enter the Polish Navy and their acquisition of 4, operated by 28 Eskadra MW at Gdynia. The example at Radom had a dragon decal applied on the port side the day before the airshow so giving photographers the chance to shoot a standard machine and a colourful special in one! Not the most dynamic of displays but more than enough to keep me interested - particularly the towed "MAD bird" pass - something not widely seen. The Seasprite is one of those unique looking machines, very '60s brought up to date with modern avionics and associated kit, indeed back in the '90s and widespread introduction of the SH-60 variants the Reserve crews of HSL84 still had nothing but praise for the up-graded helo. Anyway, a lot of love for the old girl, hope you feel the same..

Very nice mate, people are clearly so dumbstruck they are unable to type

Be nice to see over here along with a returning Mi14, especially considering they fly them in displays.

Sweet stuff. Always did have a soft spot for the Seasprite, nice to see them still kicking.

What Chris said! Imagine they're high on some UK airshows' wish-lists, too...

Lovely stuff, Geoff.
