Textron AirLand Scorpion presentation in Bulgaria

Postby hornise on Mon 29 Jun 2015, 3:04 pm

The Textron AirLand Scorpion prototype was presented to Bulgarian Air Force officers in Graf Ignatievo last week. During the presentation two Bulgarian pilots were able to fly the aircraft and become familiar with its capabilities.

Lovely shots, I do love the look of the Scorpion, would be cool to see it tooled up though :-)

What a wonderful set, with some truly unique angles. Great to see this aircraft out and about in Europe! Is there any particular aircraft type in Bulgaria that the Scorpion is perhaps being touted to replace?

Great set, it's certainly an interesting jet.

I understand Bulgaria is unlikely to go down the Super Hornet route on cost grounds. But maybe Textron are aiming for the Scorpion to be a low cost replacement for the Bulgarian Su-25 fleet? I could see it doing that role quite well. Textron are doing their up-most to sell it though.
