Lakenheath, 29/12

Post by Private Custard »

After spending a day at the Heath, getting nothing but the usual shots that I wasn't expecting to do anything with, we were surprised by a KC as we headed back past the landing lights. They made a few touch and goes as the sun was setting.......and then they turned on the lights!

Just the one for now, but it made the day more than worth it for me :)

Splendid. Saw it on approach from the Tesco car park in Brandon.

We didn't have the luxury of seeing it approaching! The trees right behind us muffled any sound it made on its first approach, and it was damn near on top of us by the time we noticed. It was a nice surprise!!

Cheers :)

I have a few more to add. Not too many though, as I've taken and showed all the same shots in the past!

And I've decided I actually prefer this version of the first shot. Sharper subject, more sky!

Thanks a lot :)

I have one more to add, purely because I'm so surprised it worked. Throughout the day, Harry let me use a couple of his bodies, so I thought I'd push the 5D3. I attached my old Kenko 1.4x extender and 100-400 mk.I, and got this at 560mm, cropped very heavily.

It's a very nice camera!
