Fortunate today to be able to see what was probably the last flight of a Royal Navy Sea King Mk5 as part of the farewell tour by 771NAS at Prestwick. Two Sea King Mk5's accompanied by a photo-ship Mk4 carried out a tour today as a farewell.
Great to see the Royal Navy recognising the importance of the SAR service over the last 40 or so years giving the people a final chance to wave farewell to the crews and show their appreciation for their hard work. Also a final chance to see the Sea King which was a fairly common site in certain parts of the country, unlike some other aircraft types which have disappeared with a whimper.

Re: Farewell Rescue 177
Glad to see at least one member managed to get some shots. With nearly 3 days notice (min' ?) & really nice weather it had to be done!
Good job!
