Coningsby Nightshoot (sorry it's late!)

Coningsby Nightshoot (sorry it's late!)

Postby Ian G on Tue 26 Apr 2016, 2:00 pm

I tagged along to the Coningsby nightshoot a few weeks back. A night of mixed feelings as I had a nightmare journey to the base, getting caught up in tons of traffic despite setting out in what I thought was enough time! I arrived at 6.13, two minutes before they shut the gate for entry! In addition, I was partway there when I realised I'd forgotten my remote shutter so most of my pictures were from using the in-built timer. I did however use my homemade bean bag for the lower shots which I was quite happy with! I also need a new tripod as my camera with battery grip is too heavy for it now! Maaaan, more expense!

Not sure if this one works but thought I'd try out something different by zooming on a long exposure:

As ever, thanks for taking the time to have a butchers.

These are great, I thought the blue sky 'under cover' shots were going to be the picks but the black and white Sentry ones are superb. Very well exposed shots of something different.
He's done another book. You're joking.

A great set! I know only too well what you mean about nightmare traffic after setting off in loads of time I arrived 15 minutes after they shut the gate

Thanks for the comments! I've decided to go on the upcoming Marham shoot but I know I'll be leaving about 3 days beforehand to get there!

Some of the best I've seen form the event, Ian!

Top stuff overall, but that first Tonka is an absolute winner!

Personally if I'm doing tripod shoots, I take the battery grip off. I find going back to the single battery isn't an issue as you're usually not taking as many shots as you might in a "hand held" environment.

Outstanding shots, looks like a good one to have gone to.

Thanks for the comments chaps, appreciated

Sam - yes, I don't know why I didn't think of taking the grip off, I think I lost presence of mind that day!
