Polish "Fitter" and "Haze" at home...

Postby Alpha Delta 210 on Sat 15 Oct 2016, 8:05 pm

Hello

I have just returned from an excellent five-day assignment with the Centre of Aviation Photography to Poland. We visited the fascinating WZL2 overhaul facility at Bydgoszcz, followed by two days embedded with the awesome Su-22 Fitters at Świdwin, and then one day with the incredible Mi-14 Haze helicopters of the Polish Navy at Darłowo.

Here are some of my favourite images from the week:

Hi alizam. Thanks for the kind words.

Unfortunately, I didn't ask how many Fitters were present at the base. However, according to an article in the August 2014 issue of "Aviation News", there are just 32 Fitters (26 M4 Fitter-K models and 6 two-seat UM3K trainer models) left in Polish service. The article states that the air arm had originally acquired 90 single-seaters and 20 trainers.

I hope that helps.
