Up close and personal with the F35A Lightning II....

Post by MattV »

Hi All,

After many months of speculation the F35A's finally arrived at RAF Lakenheath for their first overseas training deployment. A media day was held on Wednesday 19th of April as a chance for the Heads of the USAFE and RAF to showcase the fifth generation fighter to the UK and world press. I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the media day for a magazine outlet (Thanks Pat) , it was a chance to get up close and personal to the latest Aircraft the USAF have to offer and hear first hand what the USAFE think of the Lightning II. As always with these things the photo opportunities where a little challenging due to the hustle and bustle of being in a hangar with a large number of the press plus tight security around the main attraction. Here is selection of the images i managed to capture during the day.
