ACPV, RAF Coningsby - You've been tango'd...

Post by jalfrezi »

Had the pleasure of attending this years RAF Air Combat Power Visit with COAP, even though Storm Brian did it's best to disrupt matters with 50mph winds, fortunately we were spared any rain.

Most of the night shoot was shot under sodium lights, I did experiment with colour correcting the orange glow, but I wasn't happy with the results so I embraced the orange glow! Here's a few from the set.

Well, they're different - and work quite well methinks! Love the last few images, really crisp and clear. Had a similar quandary with pics of the Sea Harrier at the Navy Wings shoot, it really was a strange light, in the end I decided to turn the images to mono!

Thanks Ian! I was at the Navy Wings shoot as well and I know what you're saying about the Sea Harrier, though later on that evening they switched off the orange (sodium?) lights and switched on the white lights, so it was possible to get some decent colour shots. Of course, switching to mono works well too!
