Valhalla's Last Flight!

Post by Disaster Area »

The Army Air Corp said a public goodbye to the Lynx in UK military service. A flight of 4 AH.9A's, callsign Valhalla, conducted a flight around as much of the UK as possible given daylight hours available. First location visited was Middle Wallop and fortunately the weather played ball and the sun was shining. It was good to see quite a gathering both at the Museum of Army Flying, adjacent to the airfield and a good turn out on camp.

Very nice photos. Just a shame that the special scheme gets just the one outing...

Excellent Chris. Can I ask the same question I put on another post? What's the addition to the nose of these AH.9s? The small black thing that gives a pointed nose look in profile but head on looks like a black cross. I can't recall seeing it on a Lynx before.

Best of both Worlds! A rare drop of sunshine & a nice elevated spot on the Tower balcony looking the 'right' way!
What can go wrong?...Great set of shots!
