Jets in the low fly - 22 February

Post by CameronSys »

Hi,

So the forecasters promised wall to wall sunshine, that didn't really go so well - but at least the passes were good!

With the announcement of the retirement of Twin Seat Typhoons, it was good to see a flight of 2 pass through the valley, here's the lead ship:

Another treat was the Madhatters dropping in with 2 F-15s. In total they did 8 passes, over the morning and lunchtime. A nice touch was the American flag draped over the top of the WSO's panel in the second F-15:

A singleton Hawk T.1 of 100Sqn, Leeming, dropped in after lunch and made the best of a gap in the clouds:

And the IV(R)Sqn Hawk T.2s were kept very busy in the low fly yesterday, the stand out pass was by the crew of ZK014, owing to yet more sunshine:

A shame about the weather, but at least it didn't put the crews off!
Cheers
Cameron
