A few days at Orange including stunning F-86

Post by Lamboali »

Here's a selection from a few days at Orange this week. From an active day to the Spotter day & a few show photos thrown in as well. Hope you like.

Great selection in more favourable conditions than TM-19. Well worth the return trip Ali! Three Belgian schemes all more attractive than 'Rust Tiger' IMO, plus many other specials. F-86 is a little bit 'Airfix colours' for my taste , but wonderful shots of a most welcome addition to the depleted world of jet warbirds.

Excellent set of images. I love the colours on the F-86. For those questioning the paint scheme.

F-86F-25-NH 52-5333 was used for camouflage tests in Europe in 1965 by the 461st FDS. It is one of the few US Sabre's to have been painted with camouflage.

Excellent shots, thanks for posting!

Can't say I'm a massive fan of the Sabre scheme but lovely to see one flying in Europe again.

Thanks for the info' Daz. Still thinking they could've asked the RAF for the Green & Grey RAL reference # they used on Javelins, Hunters, et al during that period of operations in Europe? Thus saving experimenting with a green more appropriate to hiding it on a snooker table. The coloured profile within your post would be quite acceptable imo, but Hey!...It's an F-86. :yahoo: Who doesn't wanna see it?

Nice shots, that Sabre is owned by Frederic Akary formerly owner of Moonbeam Mcswine if he displays the Sabre like he did the Mustang that should be something very special.

A cracking set and that F-86 is the cream of the crop.
