Superb Leuchars sunshine show updated

Post by ianf »

Hi I made the trek up to scotland's major airshow and found they have a secret weapon up here! Sunshine! Friday I tried a different location for my shots than the end of the runway, which worked so on show day I spent the morning on base and the afternoon off it, and it was worth it.

On base I like others were most supprised to see so few F-3s on the static line.

Also the barriers made photography very difficult, anyone know why they were so tight?

The display was a good one

I think I've seen this display a few times this year!

Overall a very good show, but I think a few oppertunities were missed, and the home teams absence puzzled many folk I spoke to.
I hope to be back next year hopefully to see more F-3s!
Thanks for looking.

You did the right thing Ian, by going off base.. The sun behind makes a big difference..
I've seen a few post from on base and the sun certainly spoilt the day, Well done mate Superb set

To be honest, one or two look a little over-processed, but it might just be I'm not used to seeing aircraft in sunshine! Colour aside, there's some fantastic images in this - I love that gaggle of classic jet and all the Vulcan shots in particular.

Gorgeous pictures. Yes, the sun behind makes all the difference but still needs a decent photographer to make good use of it.

Some great shots there, would it be posible to have high res copies of the Venom in formation with the Others and the ,Venom Meteor pair please?
For possible inclusion in the Club members magazine?

Some cracking captures there Ian, most notably the Boelke topside and the Vulcan. I've got the impression that going off base is the right idea.

Was nice to catch up with you, James and Mark over a drink on Friday evening.

Cheers,
Martin
