I think I might have to squish it all in on the Sunday though and pray I can still find a spot near the front after some hangar touring.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced B&B, it'll be way to cold to camp and the cheapest B&B I found was £59 a night which is Travel Lodge at Abington

If we hadn't been away that weekend u cuda stopped @ ours

LOL @ Aceyone, cheeky beggar

Thanks for the sentiment Muppet, theres always next year

Great list, thanks for the update Pen Pusher. I don't suppose you know what Mustangs will be flying? I've really missed seeing Big Beautiful Doll this year! Looking forward to seeing confirmation of the Sabre and Typhoon but so far the F-16, Sally B, Mustangs and a real favourite for me the Catalina has secured it for me so I bought my tickets online tonight, looking forward to this so much!

Any news on statics yet and if anything thats not based at Dx will be flying in for a static display?

Quick question too... when was the last time (if ever) a Harrier came to Duxford? I think one should magically appear

2005- the Royal Navy sent a Sea Harrier FA.2 to the May VE Day Display. The 2004 Autumn Display will have been the last appearance by an RAF Harrier I believe :)

Good question, i believe it was either 2005 or 2006. I remember them when they use to take two harriers to DX for the air shows  They even had Sea Harriers & the R.A.F harriers together once at DX.

Jaguar... I used to work for Premier Inn, trust me, they have "event pricing" so you will never get a Travel Lodge or Premier Inn for less than £60 when a special event nearby is on... hence 2 months in advance the Travel Lodge at Abington is £59 a night.

Thanks for the info about the Harriers at Dux! It would be great to see one at Duxford, next year maybe  2 Harriers... 4 Harriers... stop it I won't sleep!!

Doesn't always happen as I've managed to get in at the Swavesey Travel Lodge on their £29 a night advance deals when a show is on. You just need to catch the booking times right.

However, for the Autumn Show, I've managed to get a deal at the Days Inn at Cambridge Services - only 20 mins from the gate at DX - for £69 for two nights inc continental b&b, so £35 each for the two if us!

Just going back 2004, 899 sent two SHAR's one of which flew off in the Morning, reappearing in the evening, still don't know why, as they gave no air display.

There is now a Premier Inn in North Cambridge, literally about 5/10mins from the Histon junction off the A14. It's only been open about 14weeks.

Thats probably about 20mins from DX. Might be worth a try.

Hi Thumper,, I have been reading all the info about areas for you on this forum and i keep thinking to myself i wish i could help, i would let you stay at mine in the village of Over in Cambridgeshire LOL, but there is no room, sorry. Anyway as I know Duxford well and from reading flypast it came to me about a small B&B at the village of Ickleton 3 Miles from Duxford, here is the link http://www.newinnhouse.co.uk/ I'm sorry if it has come up before on here though i thought it would be of interest to you. It will tell you the prices of the rooms depending on how many people you have with you.

Fingers cross you make it to Duxford for the closing display of the year.

Thank you Jim that was very helpful of you. Unfortunately they are fully booked and the 2 numbers the gentleman gave me are also fully booked

Don't worry I'll be there even if I have to buy an arctic sleeping bag and go back to Apple Acre Farm campsite, failing that I'll just have to toughen up and tackle the motorbike journey in a day and back, rest assured I'll be there tho!

I have stayed at New Inn House but not on a show weekend. Very welcoming indeed and excellent breakfasts. The twin bed room is very small and the beds are of the guestbed type rather than proper full size singles. Neither room is en suite and the bathroom is downstairs. Fantastic pub a few minutes walk away and serves excellent food, wonderful proper beer (ie real ale!) and the best selection of malts I've found anywhere! However, New Inn House is pretty well booked up a year or more in advance as they have regulars that stay every year for shows.

Not heard of the Menzi. Will look that up for future use.
