A collection of nice crisp shots, despite the weather :-)

Another stunning set Bernie.

Any idea what happened to the engine cowling on the Team Guinot Stearman?

Great shots Bernie, my pick is the 2nd Tiffie shot. I really struggled in the gloom with my Bigma this afternoon. Consequently, my shots are nowhere near as sharp as yours.

Thanks for the comments.

Andy, I'm sorry, I didn't even notice until you asked, so I've no idea.

Steve, It was all a matter of luck today I think....The light was awful........

Despite the weather you've still come away with some good shots. The herc is a nice one and so it the second Team Guinot shot. Hawk underside aint half bad either.

Actually nothing happened to the cowling. It's always been an uncowled version but was only used on rarer occasions when they were the Butterleys. You will have noticed that it did loads of loops in the centre of the display line. That's because unlike the others, the fuel system will allow loops but not sustained inverted flight. It's also a slightly different colour scheme with no team number and the red is lower on the sides. It's only used as the lead ship in the 5-ship displays - so far only at Flying Legends and Shoreham - and should have given pink smoke but for 'switch' trouble.

Excellent sets - great stuff. You did really well in the lousy light and mist on Sunday too.
