Fred Martin wrote:Sorry about the jets, there's a Canberra PR9 in there as well , but the good news is that I got a new pair of specs to-day ! The Beverley was shot at RAF Dishforth in the mid 60's . Cheers , Fred

And to be pedantic, theres a FrAF Paris behind the Danish Dak, really pedantic - the PR9 is a 16Sqn B(I)8 and really really pedantic - turboprops are technically "jets"..

Again, a super selection Fred, all lovely types - I'm getting quite exited by all those Varsities...

Is that a PR9 behind the Argosy?

You took too much interest in the background of that gorgous Argosy pic ! Yes, yes it is - Finningley '83 I believe, my pic of it has a lot of people in it!

To be even more pedantic :pinkwafer: I'm sure that the Tu95MS is at Fairford in 1994, where it flew in the display on the Saturday.

But away from the pedant, fantastic stuff Fred, gotta love the Beverley and the RAF Herc in the light stone/dark earth scheme  Any of the Paris hiding behind the Dak?

Brilliant brilliant stuff as ever Fred. Every one of them.

(I think the Argosy at Finningley was 84. We're a pedantic lot on here aren't we  )

Not sure where the Beverly shot was taken? Don't think its Abingdon though, hangar background doesn't look familiar.

Any ideas?

I have a huge soft spot for old scanned shots, basically because they show a time I was born too late to witness and these gorgeous images are among the best I've ever seen. Huge thanks for sharing them!
