Noted being towed out at Yeovil today 11.11.09 was Merlin G-17-610 the first Algerian Navy Merlin

It will be nice to see again once painted up in their c/s.

edit your post and remove the [url] brackets that are inside the [img] brackets around your image - that should do it! :smile:

I understand they will be grey like the Lynx they will operate alongside and operated by the Algerian Air Force, although they will also carry the insignia of the Algerian Navy.

The Algerian AW101's being built at the moment are for the Algerian Navy/Coast Guard and are likely to painted in a similar c/s to the Lynx. The image you linked to is what some of a future order may look like if awarded.

Nice shot there :clap: i am starting to like merlins I think they be a idea replacement for the RAF/RN SAR Sea Kings though I belive they cost alot to run :question: I also hear the blades cost a bomb

In Denmark the Merlins were intended to replace the RDAF S-61´s, but the continued problems with the Merlins has kept the Sea King in action longer than expected.
