Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - Dec '09

Another set of photos from my trip to America over the Christmas holidays.

Spent quite a few days at LAX airport in a number of locations and the one thing about the airport is that it is THE most annoying airport in the world... Reason? Well because there's 4 runways it seems like all the good stuff goes in / out on the runay your not on, the number of special schemes or rare aircraft we missed is staggering.

So here's some of my best shots and some of the most interesting aircraft we saw. Taken from; 'In-Out Burger', 'The Parking Spot', Imperial Hill and a couple on the ramp :tongue:

Surprised you were allowed to stay at the "Parking Spot" garage. Their normally quite anal about photography by all accounts.

The pic of the bunch for me is the Delta 747-400 rotation shot from Imperial Hill. It's a pity you didn't walk a little bit further down Sepulveda Boulevard from the In 'N' Out burger, as you wouldn't then have had to shoot into the sun on a few of the shots.

China Airlines is a stunner! The rest are half and half, some lovely composition like the C47 and the Lufty 747 is a nice one but I feel the set is let down by some backlit shots and some others like the Qantas A380 at night.
Overall, nice work, nice to see something different but maybe selection of shots would be better.
Hope this helps (none is meant to negatively impact you in any way, just as opinion.)

Ben - On seconds thoughts it is slightly too dark, good call!
'danspuggti' - Yes, at the moment the Qantas flights are the only A380 services into LAX
'McG' - We were lucky and didn't encounter security during the day, but when we tried to go and do some night photography from the top (should have got some some angles on the car traffic and aircraft) we were turned away by the security guard.

Macc - Fair point, some shots aren't the best (I agree) but I wanted to show more of the traffic that we don't we in the UK

All v good shots, but the landing Delta shows the skill & stress of getting it down, must have been struggling in the cross wind. :shock:
