More aerial capers from Zoersel

Post by KevinJ »

Haven't posted any images on here in ages so I thought I'd share a few from the Photoflying days/Air-To-Air Academy set up by Eric Coeckelberghs in conjunction with Tony de Bruin's Invicta Aviation Company. Tony is well known for flying the OV-10B around Europe, he also flies his Skyvan as a great photoship for Eric and guests. The Academy was a great success with both the 80 photographers from 20 different countries who signed up and flew in the Skyvan and all the visiting pilots. It is hoped that the event will take place next year, if it does I would highly recommend spending a few days at this lovely Belgian airfield.

Eric's philosophy is to make air-to-air shooting opportunities available to as many photographers as possible and I think he certainly succeeded with this inaugural event. There is certainly a ready supply of pilots willing to fly as subjects for your cameras.

If you'd like to contact him with any questions about next year you can reach him through his website, where many more stunning air-to-air images are available to view: http://www.ericcoeckelberghs.com/index.php?page=fly

Cheers,

Kev

Cracking photos Kevin, that black and white shot of the Bronco is superb  I really enjoyed your talk on your B-52 experience, as I mentioned when we met briefly as I was strapping into the Speed Canard on sunday. Nice to have met you

Cheers, Huw

Thanks Glenn!

Huw, was nice meeting you briefly as well, only realised you were a Brit when you said something next the the Speed Canard, I was on the road home before you landed again unfortunately. You certainly got some great shots from your flights. Hope you can make it next year if it takes place again.

Lovely stuff, as ever Kevin. The first and fourth shots stand out for me, along with the first two Bronco shots - wonderful.

Another vote for #4 here (what are they by the way??)

Would say I'd love to do something like that, however I would probably spend the entire flight huddled somewhere endeavouring to control my bowels!!!! :hide:

Surely if it was a Nanchang CJ-5 you would be able to see the centre wheel as its Tricycle unlike the taildragging Yak 18?

You're thinking of a Nanchang CJ-6, which is indeed trycycle. The Nanchang CJ-5 is a version of the Yak-18 build under liscence in China. You can tell when you peer into the cockpit of the two and one has Chinese everywhere!
