RAF Lyneham 30|05|10 US Herkys!

Post by Sam Dodd »

Evening all, today wasn't what we expected, what with the heavy wind - and only 1 sortie being flown between to US Herks. However, I'm pleased with what I got considoring the conditions, the sun came out every single time the fin's of each Herk had passed us. Typical eh! Thanks for Mike and Tony'o for the Banter, and nice to meet Neil and David!

On with the shots ..

The only useable flying shot I got, the wind really kept me un-steady today!

Well I think they are due to fly again tomorrow, then leaving on Tuesday. Not 100% sure though! Was going to go back up tomorrow with Mike, but the weathers showing 100% cloud

Interesting set as i caught these over the DZ, and funnily enough the sun went in every time they come over and besides me struggling with the wind.
The US Herc appeared to be unhappy with the conditions, wind speed was stated as 12 knots but it seemed a lot more, although 883 had no problems...............

Great pics Sam. I've been admiring these Hercs as they've been parked up on our pan. They left today by the way.
