Legends Friday

I was tossing up whether to go to Legends on the Friday as well as over the weekend.

I am not the greatest with crowds and thought I might see good % of the weekend’s flying display practice on the Friday - get a position on the flightline and get some good photos (so I can enjoy the weekend without trying to fight to get a flightline position!).

Can anyone give me an idea how much flying there is on a Legend’s Friday? Will I see much? If I am only going to see odds and sods I will probably give it a miss.

Arrivals are normally on a Friday, along with some practice displays and DA check flights.

Sometimes these are spread out over the week, depending on weather ,servicabilty , pilots etc

I've been attending the Friday of Legends for 8 years now, and never been disappointed - the action is more or less continuous (weather permitting) from the moment the place opens, and often earlier. Arrivals, rehearsals, flight tests and a steady stream of light aircraft (mostly foreign) keep the circuit buzzing. Keep in mind that many of the overseas warbirds don't arrive until fairly late in the afternoon, and if you're not FOD make sure you arrive early, as there's always one hell of a queue at the gate!

I shall be there on the Friday, as well as Sat/Sun. The Friday always doesn't dissapoint. As above, you may want to get there nice and early, (especially if your're not a FoD member), as queuing can be a nightmare on the Friday.
