RIAT - A Different Take

Post by HuwJHopkins »

Here's a quick few photographs from this years RIAT with my week old 50D. I've tried to post something a bit different from others as I can't really compete with the standards of most photographers on here. I know they won't be to everyones tastes, if they are not, then I apologise!

A huge thanks once again to everyone who I met over the course of the week and made for great company!

Cheers, Huw

A nice set, always good to see different views. I really like the third shot, excuse my ignorance for not knowing know what it is. Still a nice range of tones and contrast.
Cheers, Jamie.

Overall mate not to my tastes, but appreciate you've done something completely different and done it extremely well. Gripen's the one for me: lighting and composition are perfect.

Very nice Huw.

Very nice. The Mirage and Gripen gets my vote. I like the contrast and overall processing!

btw, I fail to see a B52 in this set!?

I don't think you should be apologising for these, Huw - I like the different take.

The head on Mirage and light/shadow on the Georgia Air Guard Herc are brilliant.

Thanks all for the kind comments, they really are appreciated!

Jamie - Its a Hercules, quite an obscure viewpoint I know.

Here's a B-52 just so lozza can say he likes it!

Huw, these are not to my tastes. I am deeply dissapointed that you have posted these knowing full well they would upset me.

I will also be writing a strongly worded letter to Canon, informing them that they have supplied you with a camera which cannot shoot in colour. :pinkwafer:

Thanks for the feedback chaps! I'm very glad people have enjoyed them, didn't expect that.

Does this mean you'll be too busy crying to go to FIA on Friday then?

The first one does it for me! Superb composition and really nice contrast. I'm wondering whether the last one in that first post might have looked slightly more balanced had all the vertical stabiliser been left in the shot rather than that little bit get cropped out? Either way, always a pleasure to view your work and see how you approach things. Thanks for sharing!
