Cheers Martin!

PMN wrote:The first one does it for me! Superb composition and really nice contrast. I'm wondering whether the last one in that first post might have looked slightly more balanced had all the vertical stabiliser been left in the shot rather than that little bit get cropped out? Either way, always a pleasure to view your work and see how you approach things. Thanks for sharing!

Paul

Thankyou Mr Nichols! I kind of agree with you on the Gripen shot, it was tricky to get trying to walk backwards into a crowd of moving people and fit it in at 100mm on the 100-400. However due to the fact that most of the jet is so low in frame, the vertical stabiliser penetrating the frame somehow anchors the jets position, if it had been included would it have looked too low in frame? Anyhow, I should probably think more whilst taking photographs!

Cheers, Huw

Crikey, if anyone ever says photography is not art I think I'll use some of these to disprove them!
I love the colours in the Gripen NG, strange thing to say for B&W but the difference of greys on the tail and the fuselage is striking. The B52 is also magnificent. The E3 is my favourite, don't know why really, I just love it!

Was great to meet you aswell,
Chris.

I think I recognise that bit of sky in the B-52 shot. Towards the end of Sunday there were some pretty dramatic, if gloomy shots to be had.

Anway, that's a really interesting set of pictures. It's easy to OD on crisp action shots after the RIAT week, so its nice to have some posts which are really different. Well done.

Very very nice indeed!!  These show a depth of imagination that works well as opposed to the usual wonky shot passed off as 'arty' as is so often seen on here. Well done chap.

You can't mean colours, I think tones is the word you're looking for  It was great meeting you too!

Possibly but that was the very first thing I saw when I looked at the photo, and once I'd noticed it my eye kept creeping up into that corner rather than looking at the whole frame. Perhaps a 4:3 aspect ratio rather than 3:2 would work better for that particular composition?

Superb images Huw, I wish I could compose shots like these. Love the M2000 but the B-52 is just pure class, awesome lighting.

It probably would have looked better with it in frame, like I said, I need to think more whilst taking photos!
