I can't make Tuesday as I am working in Plymouth. Will be at Culdrose on Wednesday though, only missed 1 year in last 17 and that was due to attending a funeral. I'm keeping everything crossed hoping the Vulcan makes it's long awaited return. :vulcan:

Weather update, the last 2 days in the Mevagissey, Cornwall area have started warm and overcast, clearing mid morning to blue skies and temps up to 26 degrees, fingers crossed for Culdrose!

Local radio Tuesday morning had an interview with a fellow from the Vulcan Trust who said the aircraft is still u/s but is being worked on. They hope it will be able to display at Culdrose on Wednesday but it will not land there.

This is another disapoimtment, no landing and take off, anyone know why if it's fixed, why can't it land there, no F16, no RAF flying on airday, any chance CU of any last min booking please?

Despite the disappointment I can see why they wouldn't land there. Better to fix it fly straight from Farnborough, display and go back to Brize. (If that's what they're doing)

You wouldn't want it to land at Culdrose possibly blow another brake unit or something else and then not fly at all. Plus I imagine the engineers wont want to trek all the way down to Cornwall now after being stuck at Farnborough longer than expected.

Absoluty understand the reasons, that's no problem, CU getting a bi thin on the ground (air) no modern foreign or RAF flying on airday, guess the harrier will ce the day before and will leave the day after

Can regulars at this show tell me if the crowd line is north or south of the runway, and if north can they recommend a good photo spot outside the field on the south side?

Crowdline is South of the runway.

It's on The main side of the airbase. A site near the bridge road side, all the way up and around the control tower side, YES the sun is on the right behind, in the afternoon, but looks clouldy, met office and BBC have it a bit different, so
E ssy sun in themornong tl 9,'other sun in the morning, other grey all day, seeing as it's the Lzard, it can vary so quickly the north Cornish coast be be cloudy and it can be compley different on the Lizard side ( south of Helston) wait till tomorrow this evening to be more sure.

Viewing outside is not good, there is the public viewing area on the other side, but a stupidly high fence

Road a d a field other e d but nor

Can't stand there

No surprise that the RAF are not supporting the show. They don't with Yeovilton either.

Thanks for that, if there is any sun at least it will be on the right side. My brother's down there on holiday with his partner so the show will give him something to do while she's talking.

Ooh ooh, I've got another question about the airframes down at Predannack. I've seem posts by people who've accessed them from the coastal path, is this possible and permissible?

Don't the RAF display pilots get a mid season break this time of year though? I know the Red Arrows are now on holiday until 5th August.

Correct and the Navy are well aware of this.
You may also want to consider the fact that they didn't request much attendance from the RAF in the first place. After all they have their own Fleet Air Arm and the CHF to choose from.

It's definitely possible , as for permissible probably not strictly but as that end of the field is open with no fences there is nothing to stop you walking on . A weekend is probably the best bet .
To give you an idea of what you can get there are some pics I took back in January accessed from the coast path at this link ..........
