I'm curious are there 2 other Tornados in the background of that second picture of VV lincs_av8or?

Nope. If memory serves I believe it is a pair of RN Lynx waiting to approach. The shot was taken on the Friday Airshow arrivals day a couple of years ago.

One of those shots you only think of in that instant and as such can only get a quick snatch at it...

A few pictures taken by me over the last few years:

The first one is of two 56 Squadron birds. One has the 2005 display scheme and the other one has got the usual 56 Squadron markings:

Image

First diamond-9 because of the Firebirds 90th.

Image

For the 'Fighting Cock's' 90th we got presented with this short lived scheme:

Image

Another Anniversary in 2007 was that of the Tremblers. En-route to Brize:

Image

And the same jet breaking into the circuit for the short runway at Leuchars:

Image

F3 at low level a good few years back:

Image

Two from XXV not long before they disbanded:

And another diamond-9 for the disbandment of 56. :'(

Really do love the schemes on ZE734 and 735, but would like to know what the trouble was with the 43 Sqn Black Scheme? Really did hope to see it but for some reason it wasn't acceptable.

Anyone happen to know if there's any plan for a retirement colour scheme like with the Jaguars etc?

Thought I'd post a couple of oldies.

The first an F2 from Mildenhall (1985 I think).

Image

A couple from Lakenheath 1992, and one of the first 56sqn marked F3's. The Firebirds had only retired their F4s a week or so beforehand.

Hi Folks,

Heres are few from myself, Looking over these pics have reminded me how actually good the F.3 displays were, Somehow the Typhoon has not managed to capture the excitement of an F.3 display.....yet.

I hope they come out ok as these are through pb and looked ok on the screen at home.

All great pictures of this beauty
Chuck, by any chance were some of these pics taken from a Tornado F3 acting as a photo jet, with yourself in the back?
