Sikorsky S-38 'Osa'a Ark' in Jersey
Sikorsky S-38 'Osa'a Ark' in Jersey
I got up close and personal with this, this afternoon.
I have to admit it's a very interesting design but when parked along side CFC's Dragon Rapide/ Dominie it's not particularly pretty, it appears to be left over girders bolted together and three motorcycle side cars hung underneath.

Rather a strange looking aircraft but some very good images to go with it. I understand it arrived late. Was it in time for the actual display?
Thanks

To the best of my knowledge it's not heading towards Duxford this week, but if you are to the north east of Chicester from Wednesday onwards you maybe in a good place to see her fly

Methinks it's bound for the Freddie March Spirit Of Aviation concours at the Revival! That means it won;t be flying over the weekend but it should make for some interesting shots nevertheless!

S-38 may stay in Jersey until Thursday and then make its way to the UK then. A rumour I have heard today is that after visiting an airfield somewhere near Chichester towards the end of this week Tom Schrade had hinted at visiting somewhere called Duxfurrrd. So keep your eyes and ears pealed.
However as Tom's intention is to circumnavigate the world in his lovely aircraft, things may change and he may head south to warmer climes.

If you see Tom again, tell him that "Chichester" is actually spelled "Cirencester" and there's a lovely airfield close by with lots of interesting things to see there this weekend - I'm sure he'd be more than welcome

Back in the country and parked up at Goodwood, according to the tracker.

Popped over this afternoon and can confirm that she is parked up at Goodwood. It was too busy to get onto the aerodrome, loads of activity with people preparing for the Revival meeting.
Will try again on Monday, hopefully with a camera. Does anyone have any info as to when she may depart Goodwood please?
