Good news Phil , another debutant for the nightshoots.

By the way, nice article on Northolt in the RAF Salute magazine and deserved praise for you and the team on raising all the money toward the Ops building restoration (and a photo of you too  )

Phil,

Thanks for the info.

Another great selection of aircraft, with two types unlikely to grace another nightshoot before they retire.

Now I have jinxed the weather I will go and hide.

Can some kind person please provide a list of participating aircraft for the Nightshoot.

I am not actually attending but only live a mile from the end of the runway so will be keeping an eye out for anything interesting.

Cheers

Read back though the thread.

Pretty much covers what has been invited and nothing is confirmed until wheels touch down.

This is really shaping up to be a top event, thanks to Phil for organising it. I'm a bit of a noob to the Northolt Photoshoots so I was wondering if some of the regulars could tell me how close to the aircraft we're going to be? I can't bring everything so just want to make sure I bring the right lenses etc.

Simon

Where everyone is standing there are two lines on the ground that are not to be crossed. I use an 18-250mm lens, which means I can get the whole airframe in or zoom in for close ups. Using Flash is frowned upon a bit.

Brian beat me to it!!!! I was checking my last photos and google earth to try and get a rough idea!!!!

I would definately bow to Brians advice :worship:

Don't forget to bring a tripod, also cable release if you have one, if not make sure you know how the timer on your camera works

Hope you enjoy it.

The German Navy P-3, USN P-3, USAF C-40, USMC C-9 or KC-130J all might be there. Also, it was nice the Ruskies are allowing the Be-200 to be photographed, if it attends.

However, the chance to catch the Dominie and RN Jetstream at night for probably the last time before they retire does hold some a lot of interest for a lot of people.

Don't forget the Dominie.
As for theTyphoons, I'm not sure they are all back in service following the ejector seat problems. Last I heard they were slowly being released on an aircraft by aircraft basis.
I would expect that the Nightshoot is unfortunately not high priority, but it won't be for lack of trying on Phils part.

As Brian has said its not 100% until its dangling its dunlops

Wow a Hawk, a King Air, a Jetstream and some choppers, and in the dark as well. Extremely exciting :yahoo: can't wait.

No one is forcing you to go, best stay at home and watch the telly instead.

I take no one at Coningsby has caught the newly painted the WWII camo Typhoon their sending down then? :heyhey:

The HS125 in the SSAFA 125th Anniversary markings should be arriving back during the Photoshoot and will join the line up (fingers crossed for no delays!)

This may well be the last time you see Hawks in Northolt. The single engine restrictions are making their appearance at Northolt events ever more difficult
