RAF Cottesmore 13.12.10

Post by DeanW »

Spent a bloody cold day up at Cottesmore today to catch ther Harriers before they go. Thanks to Dan and his Dad for the lift and the company! It was a very slow day at first, with the fog preventing flying. Eventually things kicked off in the afternoon as the special schemes went up for a photoshoot, as well as a few sorties being flown.

Didn't get anything good of the camo bird. My batteries were playing up and conveniently kept going flat whenever it was on approach!!

Super set Dean. The penultimate shot does it for me, great light and the surface spray adds to it.

Excellent set Dean.

Cockpit shot for me - always nice to see a different shot. Tried similar myself, but couldn't get a focus.

Ha yeah, I got bored of introducing myself as a retired, 1950s build, Austrian jet!

Anyone know when the harriers will stop flying?
Planning a base visit but not sure how much time I've got before it's too late!
