A Trio of Old Vickers'

Post by TomG »

A leisurely trawl through the slide collection resulted in these three getting the scanner treatment. Two decent scans and one which is pretty ropey but is included for rarity value; 'Golf Oscar (Manchester) and 5X-UVJ (Heathrow/T2 car park) shot with the Zenith B whilst 9G-ABO (Heathrow/T2 car park) was shot with an old Box Brownie if I remember correctly..........

Golf Oscar ended her days at Amsterdam following an unsuccessful hijacking attempt, 'UVJ became ZA149 with the RAF whilst 'ABO was scrapped at Prestwick in 1983.

They sure are along with a Dan Air 727; the Fairey Aviation hangar was usually full of 'green' Islanders that been built in Romania and brought back for fitting out.
