Friday arrivals North Island USN Centennial

Post by PeteFenwick »

Thanks for the kind comments on my thursday arrivals.
Friday arrivals posted below with a few pics from the saturday Centennial Parade. Hope they are enjoyable and here's hoping for a good summer in UK.

Two A4 Skyhawks, a single seater and 2 seater. The planned A4 in the parade didn't appear because of a tech problem so the friday arrival was fortunate.

Oh lordy, it gets worse (better!) :hypno: What an event this was. Nice to see the flybys bending round for top side "review" passes; why have the Yanks got this sorted so effortlessly??
Have you got any of the 2 USMC KC-130s as one looked as though it had a special painted fin??
You caaan't trust the system... Maaan!

The UH-1 and Cobra formations are pretty epic. Nice stuff all round though!

What a great set of arrival shots and so many topsides - your brief notes on identities also appreciated Pete - thanks for sharing

Cheers

Wow.....quite simply blows most of what we have out of the water in one fell swoop. Fancy a Sea Vixen?

I would be happy just to see some blue sky.

I 'am off to sit outside the engine pen at Cottesmore, or is photograph Islanders at Waddo

Thanks for posting
Cheers,

Chris

This is all starting to make me feel a bit queasy, the more I see from here the more I regret not going. Another fine set Pete, the Hornet's look stunning as do the Marine helo's, we can only dream of seeing that sort of line up here. I think you've peaked early for 2011, the rest of the year's never going to match up to this.

Another very nice set there Pete. A shame the A-4 had a problem on Saturday, I managed to miss catching that one altogether. They also lost the SNB (Twin Beech) and Coastguard HU-25 (Falcon) from the flypasts due to tech issues.
