Post by rjlaker »

Hi all,
Went on my first air to air photography flight today - with Charlie Brown in the HAC Spitfire. Here's one for now, more to come as I'm going through them!

I am intrigued as to what that is at the back of the Port wing? It looks like something has punctured it but I am sure there is a simpler explanation!
Anyone got an answer??

Believe it is the indicator to show the pilot that the flaps are down

Is the winner for me - nice variety in them though Rob, and good work on the edit too. I thought the original was a little flat in terms of contrast and colour, but it looked much better after your re-upload.

Nice shots and must have been a great experience. Pity you didn't have the luck with more of the sun though.

 Hi Rob.

Thank you for an excellent series of photos. Glad you enjoyed your day. Having been working on the site for all of the weekend, and having spoken with many of those who flew with the Spitfire, including Michael Aspel and John Challis, the chance to fly in such close proximity to the Spitfire was a real experience. In your shot of the Memorial site, I can see the ruts where we got 30 tons low loader bogged down, I was not a happy bunny. Once again, thank you for the pictures, and thank you for your support to the Memorial.

For your information. I was at a meeting with "Action Stations" yesterday at the Memorial when they outlined their programme of flying, their next flying weekend with the Spitfire and helicopters over the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne will be on Saturday and Sunday 9/10 April (weather permitting). see; http://www.flywithaspitfire.com
