North Weald 30.04.11

Post by DeanW »

If you're not a Hurricane fan it's probably not worth going any further!

Had a few hours free this morning so popped along to North Weald. Arrived and saw this beauty sitting outside..

Took a few snaps around the aircraft before they got her ready for start up..

Once start up was complete, PT taxiied out and departed out of view of the Squadron. Don't know where he went but he didn't return in the hour and a half I was still there afterwards!

Image

In fact, nothing else of real interest happened after that. So I ended up photographing my noble steed. (Not really a match for PT's ride, eh!) If you recognise it out and about this year come say hi..

Hope they're of some interest anyways!

Lovely pics! Sharp and nice light!
Did you get special access or can anyone get up to the Bassett?

Hurricane was at Kemble this afternoon & departed about 14:45 to White Waltham after a small display.

Regards.

Cheers Rick! No special access for the Bassett, it's just sat next to the car park so anyone can have a wander around it.

What's normally 'based' at North Weald? It has a museum but that doesn't have any aircraft included.
With RAF Hendon not too far away I might check out North Weald as well.
