Kjeller Flydag 2011

Post by Agg »

The "Flydag" at Kjeller, outside of Oslo, is the only annual air show in Norway, and the flying programme is pretty much the same every year. This year though we were treated to the first public display by the "Norwegian Vampire Pair" (the name isnt very fitting considering that one of them still sports Swedish roundels) set to appear at Waddington later this year, and the Baby Blue Formation Team of the Royal Danish Air Force. Unfortunately the weather didnt play ball, with everything from bright sunshine to torrential rain and heavy winds some of the displays had to be cut short, still it was a nice day out and a good start to the air show season.

Looks like a nice little show, with some great aircraft to boot. I like the Saab 91 and first Vampire shot... and how good does that Sea King look?!

Yeah loving that Seaking with the dark background, great shot, and the green military moths. Thanks for posting a different viewpoint

Superb photos, Fredrik. The Sea King and the day-glo Vampire both look great, but the F-16 take of is my favourite photo in the set.

Thanks guys :)

No, the F-16 didnt do a full demo, just a couple of fly bys and a touch and go.

Some good non run of the mill shots of different aircraft from unusual angles - I am not surprised the F16 did not fly the display routine when you look at the close proximity of the H.T. electric cables in the first F16 shot! - thanks for sharing Agg

Cheers, just wondered if we had a "full house" of the main 4 F-16 demos this year.

That's correct ;)

If my memory serves me right the last time the RNoAF did a full display with an F-16 was in 2002. Which really is a shame.
