Airpower11 Zeltweg/Austria [very pic heavy]

Post by Joerg »

Hi all,

headed out to Zeltweg/Austria on Friday for the bi-annual Airpower airshow. This was my first time at Zeltweg and definately not the last. What a beautiful setting with the airbase nestled in a valley with mountains all around. Light was perfect most of the day. The programme was very good, with every type the Austrian Airforce/Army has being shown in the air. Add a couple of display teams (Saudi Hawks, Frecce, Patrouille Suisse, Turkish Stars and Krila Oluje), the Red Bull inventory and some fast jets and helos (Belgian and Dutch Vipers, Swiss Hornet, Slovakian Fulcrum, Czech Hind, Gripen and L-159, etc.) and you know it was a great show.

On with the pics.

Cheer,
Joerg

Terrific set. Love the 262 cleaning up the gear!

Wow, there are some fine images here; particularly liking the first DC-6, the PC-9 solo and the ME-262 shots.

Great photos of a wonderful airshow! The background is great and adds to the experience in my opinion.

By the way, anybody photos of the DC-2 which was in the static display? Hopefully somebody shot some photos of the DC-2 during its arrival on Wednesday 29th June or departure on Sunday 3rd July!?

Looking forward to hear from you!

Kind regards,

Mark

Fantastic set, the 262, DC-6, P-38, Corsair for me, red bull logo spoils the look on the aircraft which is a shame, but well done

I shot the DC2 on the static but have not time to look at any shots yet. I'll post in the next few days.

I does spoil the look but the aircraft still flies and I don't think the show could have happened on this scale without Red Bull.

Joerg - Great set, I'll be struggling to match these. You must have been using a long prime lens as they did fly a long way off and you were probably in the spotters enclosure. Really nice F16 and Me262 shots.

Great set - head-on Hind looks very threatening.

Nice teaser of the Corsair and P-38 to get me excited about Legends although they both look very shiny!
