Extending the range of Sky wi fi

Extending the range of Sky wi fi

Postby Eelmoor on Tue 30 Aug 2011, 8:39 pm

Having recently had power put into the gara putting a Desktop in there running an SBS and hence viewing the output via remote access on the laptop indoors, to do this Im going to need the desktop to connect via wi-fi to the box (Sky) in the house, I have tried from the same position the desktop is going to be positioned with my laptop which has a built in wi fi reciever but its just out of range. I already have a usb extender (sorry cant remember the name of the lead but its silver in colour) and hope with this attached and the dongle plugged in the end and then positioned high in the garage I will be able to connect, the question is is there anything I need to do or can do on the router end, positioning etc to extend the range from that end
