What I'd give to be able to get shots like them, they are immense...

Point B on Damien's Map.The lens used is a Canon 100-400, which made me feel a bit inadequate amongst the "heavy artillery" brigade.

I'm not familiar with the 70-300 but would imagine if it's anything like the 100-400 the top end would be a bit soft - I usually don't use it beyond 350. Most of the shots in my post are taken in the 250-300 range but as I have a 1.3 crop factor (compared to 35mm,) sensor would think that your lens will cope. The good thing about Lakenheath is you can walk closer to the flightpath if you find they are not filling the frame. Good weather days when they are launching from the 06 runway (easterly winds.) are not that common. Hope some of that helps.

It definately does mate, thanks alot!!

Would you reccomend the same place if 24 is in use or elsewhere? Is there much space for parking?

If 24 were in use there would only be opportunities for landing and taxying shots from there. Parking wise there is space for a few cars but the authorities prefer you use the viewing area. Don't block the forest entrance.
