Marines over Helmand...

Post by TonyO »

In May, Neil Dunridge and I were lucky to hit the deserts of Afghanistan for some time with the ISAF forces there. Now some of our articles have been published I thought I would a few images from our time with the US Marine Corps. Neil's article on fixed-wing ops can be found in the latest edition of Combat Aircraft. I will update this thread with images from the rotary-wing operations once the second half of his stuff has been published!

Great stuff Mr O!

Rather interested in those gunship grey Harriers.

Will be starting a 1/48 version soon - interested in the loadouts they had.

Thanks for posting!

The underside of the new scheme is FS35237

One of the reasons for the new scheme is to darken the aircraft to reduce the frequency they need to be cleaned!!

Super pics again Tony

Gotta love those AV-8s!

Whenever I sit in the flight deck for landing (often), the pilots always tell me not to use the flash. That's for scheduled flights which they do often, you've used a flash on a non standard op flight. Looks much better
