UKAR Calendar 2012? Vote Please!

It's been a few years now since UKAR last sold it's very popular Christmas cards featuring photography from the membership. This year - as part of UKAR's 15th Anniversary - we want to go one step further and produce a high-quality calendar using some outstanding photos from the 'Week in Pictures' feature.
Price-wise, we'd be looking at somewhere around a very reasonable £10, and they will be ready in more than enough time for Christmas.

Please vote to let us know whether you'd be interested or not, and feel free to leave any comments or suggestions!

Seriously though, I would most likely pass. Nowadays, I don't see much point in buying a calendar, when 99% of the time you can do this on your phone/tablet/computer or whatever; in my opinion, that is far more practical. Therefore, it's a 'maybe' from me. Good idea though.

The final option -- albeit great - isn't how I feel about this.

If it was in a good format with large boxes for the dates, I'd definitely go for it with the high quality of POTW entries nowadays, but personally I'd like to see the Christmas Cards return...

We thought about the Xmas cards but it might be a little late now... Bearing in mind that anyone buying would need them delivered so that they could beat last post, so it gives us not very long to get them prepared, ordered, made and delivered before its too late for this Xmas.

We thought a calendar might give us a little more time as we can run it all through December and into January if needs be, but at the same time I notice that FC have said in their forums that uptake has been quite slow, so we need to gauge interest before we commit to anything.

Yes I know, it seems like FC have planned another one with proceeds going to the RAFBF.

Yes, I know - I mentioned earlier in the thread that the guys running FC were saying the uptake had been slow for their 2012 calendar, hence us asking in this topic before committing to anything.

The evidence of the poll thus far would suggest that there is insufficient demand, so it's something we won't be bothering with. A bit of a shame, because there are some truly stunning photos in the POTW pages which would make an outstanding wall calendar, but there's no point even starting if people won't buy them.

Maybe next year we can produce some more Xmas cards instead, because they were popular when we made them in 2006, but it's too late for this year now.

I think that FC's pre-orders have been slow but I'm sure that things will pick-up when the finished article is printed and ready for distribution.
