My take on Aviation Nation 2011

Post by FrankCrebas »

had a Nice day out on Saturday 12 November at Nellis AFB. Moderate weather and some nice participants to watch. It was my first time to photograph the Thunderbirds and I was not disappointed.

Nellis is quite tricky in terms of light conditions and therefor I searched and found a place that made it a little bit easier. This spot was near the bus drop-off point and opposite to the Nellis terminal. This spot allowed me to photograph the topsides in a nice banking angle (with reasonable light) and I had the advantage to see the jets taxiing by after their display when they left the runway.
Please enjoy my selection of my last aviation event of the year!

I really loved the T-33!

Gorgeous! Love these, love Nellis.

Wish work would've sent me to Vegas for this. Maybe next year

Excellent selection with a nice bit of 'time travel'. Blue sky, sun and silver birds keeps us nice and happy... during these dark grey winter European nights !
Thanks for posting, and keep 'em coming

Those Phantom shots are making me feel all tingly down below, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class...

Oh that Nellis backdrop, great set of images Frank. The emphasis on drama portrayed by the desert camo F.16 throwing afterburner shockwaves with airbrakes deployed . Thanks for sharing.
