Now there's a feast! Really liking the two lined up with the 737 overhead, plus the two that follow. The A-7 is a truly under-appreciated aircraft and you've done the ol' beast justice with this set.

You just have to smile at the Greek approach to 'turnout'. Two similarly weathered and worn A7s displayed at IAT some years back and were
parked next to 2 'pristine' and 'squeaky clean' A7Ds from Pittsburgh ANG - their aircrew could not believe their eyes.

The Buckeyes are alive and well, and will be for a few years yet.

Great shots Chris, are these shots recent or from your time out there a couple of years back and did you hear anything on how long 336M will continue on the A7?

Nothing very recent, mostly May and November 2010. At the time there was no talk of the A-7 finishing but there have been more recent rumours of both the A-7 and the RF-4E going but as far as I know nothing official yet :sad:

Hi Chris/All

Info I got two weeks back.. "Hellenic AF is due for some major cuts. AgCats are already out since last Spring. A-7 might go as soon as February. The final word on that is due this week. We will know more on the A-7 within this week. There is a chance that 336 Sqn will keep them flying (mainly the TA-7C and some A-7E) on Lead In Fighter Training role due to lack of anything better and since the T-2 can't cope with that. (Buckeyes will keep flying though). RF-4 will be retired very soon (only four are flying now), as soon as the new F-16 Block 52+ Advanced will have IOC on the DB-110 recce pod".

Keep you informed if.

My friend in Greece tells me that the A7 are due to go this year but the RF4E have maybe up to five years
