Tony's Top 10 from 2011...

Post by TonyO »

I see lots of best of 2011 threads appearing all over the website so I thought I would oblige with my own.

Can't actually post all my favourite ones yet - watch out for more Marine Corps stuff in just over a month's time.

These are in no particular order...

A bit of action from the Salisbury Plain, not a classic year, but some nice action!

Firecat at Northolt, an amazing attendee for one of the nightshoots, well done Phil!

Image

Discovery returning for the last time.

Image

It wouldn't be an odd year without a visit to EA-ALAT at Le Luc to see the lovely Tigres!

Image

That 'Flanker moment' at the Western end of Fairford, I think our collective hearts stopped as it emerged into the sunlight.

Image

Finally broke my A109 cherry out on the Salisbury Plain when this lovely machine posed for me during a sunny December day on the Down.

Image

Apache at Sunset - Just a handful of us stuck around until the bitter end of what was a cold day to snap this remarkable moment!

Night snapping with Florida's 'Green Feet!'

Nice ones Tony, loving Discovery. Thanks for reminding me again that I should have stuck around for that Apache sunset and yes it was a heart stopping moment the Flanker following the sun....

Hi Tony, outstanding set. You have a very nice selection of images, I like especially the Discovery shot, because is a historical moment, "the last flight" of this space shuttle. I grew up looking the launch of this machines.

Thanks for share

The Shuttle and the Firecat for me, but all round a fantastic set. After my first trip to the SPTA last year you have me hooked on helicopters too :)

Hope you are feeling better mate.
