2011: photographic review

Post by GME-AirFoto »

The year of the Fukushima disaster, financial crisis, Arab Spring, the execution of Osama bin Laden and the royal wedding comes to an end. I could take some aviation pictures, all in all it was a good year for me.

The year started with an nice nightshoot at Lechfeld Airbase in January. 55.555 flight hour Holloman - Tornado IDS(T) 45+99

In March we visited Wittmund AFB to catch the last F-4F Phantom of the Luftwaffe in service and the A-4 Scooters.

Great luck with the weather for the air2air session with the Extra 300LP in April

In June the 50. anniversary of the Bavarian based Eurofighter squadron Jagdgeschwaders 74 take place

and one months later it was time for the first real airshow. Airpower Zeltweg in Austria was my best show in 2011

not a good year without at least one show of our Italian friends...

In August another nightshoot with an Pitts S-1 and lots of events...

... like Horizon Air Meet, an great RC show with an spectacular nightshow, or

another of several visits to Lechfeld AB and

the fabulous Tannkosh Fly - In.

It´s a passion!

The end of a long year was a trip to Switzerland for the Axalp Demo.

All in all it was a very great season. If you want, you can find some more here.
I would like to hear, which picture is your favorit. Goodbye 2011 and all the best for 2012 to all of you and now it´s time for a party

A set full of winners! The A-4, Tannkosh Super Cub, and the last one are my picks.

Absolutely brilliant pictures Mathias.

My favourite for what it is worth was the Swiss F18 Hornet.

Thanks for posting them.
