Look to the skies again in 2012 for four hours of high-octane aerial displays, ranging from historic war birds to modern day military aircraft.

Make a note of the date for the annual fun-filled family day out on Saturday 28 July 2012

Tickets will go on sale later in the year. Please check the website for regular updates. :yahoo:

How's about some ideas, a 4 ship Leuchars Typhoon display, Vulcan, BBMF with Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane, Red Arrows, Tornado GR.4 Demo, RAF and RN Sea Kings, Dutch and or Belgian F-16, USAF F-15 from Lakenheath.

I hope all of those aircraft mentioned in the previous post will be at East Fortune, especially the Red Arrows
who have been missing for a couple of years, although they did a Flypast over East Fortune race track
on Sept 11 last year!

That's ambitious! I'm hoping it will return to the 2 day weekend event it once was and maybe we'd get what you have listed, but if RIAT can pull a few strings here and there, maybe we will see some of what you have put in your wish list for East Fortune.Thankfully now the uncertainty has gone about the date,it's who to take with me? My mate,or my girlfriend?...................
Planes?,PLANES?!! WE'VE got plenty of planes!

So so far we have got:

RAF Hawk
RAF Tucano
RAF Red Arrows

Here's hoping we get some more updates soon.

Seeing as this Years Typhoon Display is from 6 Sqn at Leuchars it would make total sense for the Typhoon to appear. Let's hope it does.

Ace news!! Reds at East Fortune!! Can't remember the last time I saw them there! Now if we did get the Vulcan,.... However I would love to see the Typhoon there, last time it was there it was overcast! And one thing about the Typhoon at a display not usually noted for a regular Typhoon display is the anticipation of it arriving and taking everyone by surprise! Totally ace and a tremendous noise!

The last time the Reds were at East Fortune was July 2009, when I took these pics from a couple of miles from the airshow. It kind of spoilt
the impression I have always had, because I saw that the two Reds who fly towards each other before crossing paths, aren't as close as I had
always thought when I've been watching from the spectating area. When I was younger I thought they passed within 'inches' of each other!!!

I must admit I was elsewhere in 2009 and missed the action! But at least will see them there this year! Haven't seen anymore participants listed yet,but still early days! I think we may see Dak at East Fortune, not sure if we'll get a Spit and Hurricane etc,but it'll be great to have them.
Redsfan, don't let that spoil your image! However as we are all aware, although they will have 7 flying,I'm sure they will be superb as always.

After the Huey last year, it looks like East Fortune will have the OH-6 Loach in attendance, but only it seems as a static exhibit.

Website updated:

Red Arrows
RAF Falcons
Hawk T1
King Air
Tucano
RN Sea King
Sea Fury
Tiger Moth
P51 Mustang
RV8ters
SWIP Team Twister Duo
OH-6 Loach (as above own website suggests static only)

I'd guess that you can probably add a local Pitts Special and Starduster Too.

Cheers for the info Trevster,,my initial thoughts were that both Tornado & Typhoon display teams will probably give East Fortune a dodge due to other display rotas? However after seeing the lists,I wonder if there's a chance to slot a display in!

Both free that weekend in as far as not displaying, question is are they deliberately free to allow those on the team a summer holiday after all it is slap bang in the middle of the Scottish school holidays...
