Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
I was looking at doing an Ian Allan trip to cover this Whittmund event but at nearly £800 I reckon i'll be better off doing it my own way. If anyone else fancies doing the same then feel free to get in contact.
Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
Screechy i know some people who may interested in making a foursome if your interested. I shall have to speak to them first.
Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
Sounds good.. although when you say foursome......
Can't find any other details about this event at the moment other than it just turned up in the Ian Allan Phantom Trip Itinerary. They had been waiting for a date from Wittmund.

Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
Does anyone know if this is a open day or by invite only? My brother and I will be heading out for sure, but would be good to know whether we'll be inside or outside!
Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
Got no details on it other than a date and I can't even corroborate that with anything else at the moment. Hoping more details emerge very soon.

Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
The date is correct and confident. It´s an spotterday open for everybody. You need to register yourself over Luftwaffe.de in the next months as soon as the people from JG71 are ready. (I guess round about March - April) Currently the squadron invites some guest aircrafts from other Luftwaffe and NATO squadrons.
The guest aircrafts are all in for static, but based JG71 Phantoms should be flying too, which is not 100% sure currently. That´s the informations i got this week from JG71 press and information office. I hope it helps you.
See you in Wittmund next June and greets from Bavaria.

Re: Wittmund Spotters Day June 5th
I've heard some rumours (can't remember where) that only the A-4s would be flying that day.
A weather forecast is a forecast and just that

and this is what it says.
''Very honoured participants of the Spotterdays, we send you this way some information for meeting. We expect you starting from 13:00 clock at the police headquarters of the airfield " Wittmundhafen". From there out you are led to the park surface. Please have understanding that for organizational reasons admission is not possible before 13:00 clock to the airfield. The airfield is between the cities Aurich and Wittmund because of the federal highway 210. During the Spotterdays no flying operation will take place. Us the available the F-4F phantoms in the statics display to be seen will have. In order to facilitate for you a photographing, the airplanes freely and without closing will be zugängig. However a minimum distance from a meter is to be considered to. We point out that entering of the Shelterdächer is forbidden. If someone should offend against the editions, is the guard and divided personnel authorizes to refer you immediately the airport. The police will issue an absolute park prohibition within the road range around the airfield''
