RAF East Kirkby comes alive 17/3/2012

Post by MetMan »

I'm late to the show so I have done my best to pick different angles to the previous posters. I have to say how astonishingly good the re-enactors were - they certainly made the drive up from Devon worthwhile.

Be gentle with me - it's the first outing for my new 600D.

Got to say, a fantastic set of pictures, BZ!
What exactly do you mean Officer when you say no photography allowed? Can you be more specific?

Thanks for the comments guys - appreciated.

The last one is at ISO 3200 so it means I can't get away with playing around with it much (I shot JPEG only). By rights it probably shouldn't have made the cut!

I think the graininess of using ISO3200 probably helped in some ways.....perhaps desaturating and making it B and W with some sepia or some such effect might also make it look genuinely like a WW2 pic. I must admit I was impressed at Duxford a few years ago by the re-enactors.

Really like these a lot.
As others have said the 40's style colour one is bang on.
The one with the bomb under the Lanc is superb too

Note to self : must get to East Kirkby soon

Cheers
