Historic Jets at Deelen - and a few props!
Historic Jets at Deelen - and a few props!
These pictures were taken at Deelen AFB in 1988 on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the RNeth AF (I think!).
There were also some old piston engined aircraft - I believe they were all museum airframes.

Yes, like those a lot. Thunderjet? TP-25, I photographed that particular jet at Florennes during Tlp 95/6.

I was at that show. A can of Heineken was the same price as a can of Coke on the refreshment stall. Nice show but the weather wasn't particularly good IIRC.

I have
Weather was poor but it was still an excellent show - thanks for the memories
Re: Historic Jets at Deelen
Glad that the pictures brought back a few memories. It seems like it was a popular show with forumites!
I've added a few more pics of the piston engined participants. The Fokker D.XXI looks like a Harvard conversion.
Cheers

Trust you to kick a man when he's down ! Bizarre, there it is amongst the other stuff that I have pics of but not that.....
Not the best airshow venue and boy, did we cover some miles walking round that huge place... The 5 (IIRC) ship Frecce display, Italian '104s, mass flybys, the "stealth" ...great show though. Only RAF participants were the BBMF and Harrier solo/spare...
