Historic Jets at Deelen - and a few props!

Post by comet4 »

These pictures were taken at Deelen AFB in 1988 on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the RNeth AF (I think!).
There were also some old piston engined aircraft - I believe they were all museum airframes.

Yes, like those a lot. Thunderjet? TP-25, I photographed that particular jet at Florennes during Tlp 95/6.

I was at that show. A can of Heineken was the same price as a can of Coke on the refreshment stall. :) Nice show but the weather wasn't particularly good IIRC.

Glad that the pictures brought back a few memories. It seems like it was a popular show with forumites!
I've added a few more pics of the piston engined participants. The Fokker D.XXI looks like a Harvard conversion.
Cheers

Trust you to kick a man when he's down  ! Bizarre, there it is amongst the other stuff that I have pics of but not that.....

Not the best airshow venue and boy, did we cover some miles walking round that huge place... The 5 (IIRC) ship Frecce display, Italian '104s, mass flybys, the "stealth" ...great show though. Only RAF participants were the BBMF and Harrier solo/spare...
